Medicaid Health Navigator Care Coordinator

E-mail: katelynn@aspenminecenter.org

My name is Katelynn Brown, I am new employee here with Community of Caring, I started my position
in September, I am a Medicaid Health Care Navigator for Teller County through Colorado Community
Health Alliance. I assist active members of Health first Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) with
navigating their health needs and goals! I can help in many ways; I can help locate Providers in the
covered Medicaid network. I can help arrange transportation to and from appointments if needed, find
specialists in the covered Medicaid network, answer questions you may have or in the very steer you in
the right direction!
I truly enjoy what I do, I enjoy helping people be the very best that they can be! A lot of times if you
have confidence in your health and your own health goals you can just about conquer anything else! I
have had previous experience in medical billing and medical clinic settings. So I am familiar with
Medicaid, and couldn’t wait to begin! I still feel like this, and I love that I can be someone to provide
answers and resources. Finding the health plan needs to be a right fit for you and your family. And this
can take time and can be frustrating and I want to be someone they can always rely on, I feel as a
member of Community of Caring and CCHA I can do that with confidence.
I am Colorado native and enjoy a lot of benefits that has to offer! My family and I enjoy hiking with our
dog “Buddy”, fishing, biking, camping, and exploring our state! There is so much history and always
something to learn, Colorado is amazing. We are so blessed to live in a state where there is so much to
offer and so many beautiful sites to see! With 3 kids we are always on the go and we are lucky to be able
to raise our family in a community as wonderful as ours right here in Cripple Creek/ Victor.
I have always thought community is everything no matter where you live. And here with Community of
Caring this is celebrated. I am amazed all the time with the talent and amazing professionals who make
up this organization. One of the very first things I was when I first started working with the Aspen Mine
Center is “Miracles happen here.” And I have seen it. We are a HUB if you will, a “one stop shop” for
those who are in need. It takes courage to ask for help! A lot of people aren’t aware of how big it is to
take the first the step… right through our front doors. Because after you come in, you are welcomed and
have so many different resources and kind faces all there for you. And by the time you leave, well
hopefully you feel like you can take a breath a little better and know in your heart there is always
someone here for you. Sometimes just knowing that is enough to make all the difference in the world.
We are here to help anyone and most of all we take care of the heart that is our community here in
Cripple Creek for all of Teller County. And I am proud to be a part of that.
