Wednesday Community Lunch

Yes, there is such a thing as a free lunch.

Each Wednesday, the Aspen Mine Center, in partnership with local churches, clubs, agencies and community volunteers, provides a community luncheon (for optional donation) that welcomes all community members. For many, this is the only nutritious meal they have all week. This program “builds a healthy community” by enhancing neighborhood attachment, prosocial engagement, connecting clients to local resources, promoting intergenerational and cross-economic
interaction and acceptance.

A comfortable dining room to enjoy a meal with old friends
and make new ones

A hot, healthy lunch complete with everything from salad through dessert,
including hot and cold beverages

Great food, terrific opportunities for socializing,
a fun and relaxing time for all!

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Since 2006, Community of Caring has stepped in to meet the needs of struggling families for Christmas. Each year, Community of Caring spends money on Walmart gift cards and selects children from the Angel Tree by local families for gift giving. These are just a few of the programs the Aspen Mine Center has to help families and children in need. Staff and volunteers spend time organizing and calling families and picking up community donations of food and gifts for the Christmas Programs. Check out the images to the left from our 2021 festivities! Other Christmas events that the Aspen Mine Center hosted or helped sponsor include:
