Brandi Spoon Success Story
Denise Wilson is the Job Coach at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center at the Aspen Mine Center. Among her myriad duties, she helps our clients with RUN activities (re-skill, up-skill and new-skill), to get folks training and certification in various fields such as CDL licensing and CNA certification, just to name a couple. At the workforce, the funding for this program is offered through WIOA (the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act). Denise also performs a similar role at the Adult Education Center (AEC) at the CC/V School District, providing training and certifications with funding through the district’s RISE grant. She recently helped a local client named Brandi Spoon earn her CNA certification through the AEC. Here’s Brandi’s story:
Hello, my name is Brandie Spoon. I want to share how AMAZING the Adult Education Center is!! The staff has helped me change my whole life! Helping me change my career!! I went from a job at a casino with no support for growth. Now I am changing others’ lives as a home healthcare worker here in the Cripple Creek-Victor area. I now love my job and know I have a positive impact on our community!! I could never thank my mentors at the Adult Education Center enough! Thank you! I am now proud of the work I do!
